Willian: “I was not happy at Arsenal”


The Brazilian’s stint with the Gunners will not have marked Premier League fans. The winger has only scored one goal in twenty-five games.

Willian left the Premier League and Europe to return to his training club, the Corinthians. The Brazilian returned to his time at Arsenal which he does not have good memories of.

“I have reflected a lot with my family and loved ones. Unfortunately my time at Arsenal was not good. I was not happy at the club. I will not go into details but I was there not happy. I thought the best option was to come back to Brazil. I also studied other offers. But I wanted to come back to the Corinthians to come home, to be closer to my family. It’s the club that revealed to me and it was the right time to come back, ” the former Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea player explained at a press conference.
