Samuel Stone has been speaking tough after making his full Enyimba debut in the 2-1 win against Remo Stars on Wednesday.
The former Jigawa Golden Stars hitman put up a man-of-the-match performance, providing an assist for Ekene Awazie’s winning goal against Gbenga Ogunbote’s side.
Stone had hitherto made several cameo appearances for the People’s Elephant, a situation he was never satisfied with.
He revealed he had to walk to the Enyimba gaffer Finidi George and challenged the former Ajax star to give him a starting role, which he promised to justify.
And after his impressive displays on his full debut on Wednesday, the energetic forward expressed relief, stating he is at Enyimba to prove his worth.
“I was not happy for not having a playing time, because there is no good player that will come to a team and not playing, and feel relaxed” he told www.enyimbafc.net. “That means it shows you came for the money and definitely you’re not going to last in the team, because if they don’t see your effort, you have to go for another person to come and take over that job.
“You go hard or you stay home, that’s my slogan. For me, not playing all those time, I was not happy. I gave the coach some body languages by working extra hard for him to know I wanted to play.
“I know my standard in the league, so coming to Enyimba and not proving myself, I didn’t feel good about it. I never felt good when I was coming in for two minutes, five minutes. I was not happy about myself.
“I met the coach and we talked and I said ‘start me in a game and I will prove you wrong. I just need to start a game and I will prove you wrong’.
“I was happy everything went as planned because I was ready. For you to go out to talk to a coach with that confidence, you have to be ready.”
#CAFAwards2022: CAF Reacts To Oshoala Warm Hug With Sadio Mane
The Confederation of African Football popularly known as CAF held an award ceremony yesterday in Rabat, Morocco where outstanding African players were duly rewarded for their hard work which doesn’t go unnoticed.
The Best Player in the men’s category was won by former Liverpool forward and Bayern Munich new boy, Sadio Mane and the women’s category won by Nigeria’ Asisat Oshoala with some other awards won in other categories.
Sadio Mane was named the CAF footballer of the Year beating fellow Teranga Lions teammate and Chelsea’s shot stopper, Edouard Mendy and former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah to the award which was the case for Asisat Oshoala who made history by winning her fifth record award as the first ever player to do so in history, after surpassing Samuel Eto’o and compatriot Perpetua Nwokocha who had four each as the joint most before yesterday.
The side of attraction during the ceremony was when Asisat Oshoala’s name was called out as the winner for the prestigious award in the women’s category, she gave Sadio Mane a warm hug as a sign of mutual respect before mounting the podium to give a brief speech to commend those who made it possible for her.
Reacting in that regard, the African football governing body popularly known as CAF with a post via their verified Twitter handle posted the name of the two winners with colours showing their nationalities after which it was complemented with the caption:
“Nothing to see here, just two GOATs greeting each other”.
Mike Tyson thinks he’s going to die ‘really soon’
Despite being a multi-millionaire, boxing legend Mike Tyson has acknowledged his financial troubles with his wife and expressed his belief that his death is approaching “very soon.”
The former heavyweight champion, 56, said to trauma and addiction therapist Sean McFarland on his podcast “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” that he feels his time is almost over.
Of course, Tyson continued, “We are all going to die one day.”
Then, when I see those tiny marks on my face in the mirror, I exclaim, “Wow. That indicates that I will soon reach the end of my shelf life “.’
Money “doesn’t matter to me,” Tyson continued in a morbid dialogue, adding that it gives one a false sense of security.
I usually tell people that when you have a lot of money, you can’t expect anyone to love you because they believe that money will make them happy and since they have never had money before, he continued.
When you have a lot of money, you think you’re invincible, which is untrue.
Tyson added that he speaks with his third wife Lakiha Spicer, who claimed that money will ensure her long-term stability after his death.
“Exactly what is security?” He questioned.
“I’m not sure. Is it secure to deposit money in a bank and receive a check each week that will allow you to support yourself for the rest of your life?
It does not guarantee that you won’t contract a sickness or be struck by an automobile. Can you be protected by money if you jump from a bridge?
In 1985, Tyson competed in his first professional fight and defeated Hector Mercedes at the age of 18.
As the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts, as well as the only heavyweight fighter to unify them in succession, “Iron Mike” immediately developed a reputation for his vicious and terrifying approach.
He was sentenced to three years in prison for the July 1991 rape of teenaged Desiree Washington, and in 2003, he declared bankruptcy despite having made over $30 million from some of his fights and $300 million throughout his career.
Tyson is also notorious for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear during their fight in June 1997.
After the bout in Las Vegas, a portion of Holyfield’s right ear that had been severed during the chomp was discovered on the ring floor.
