Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the recently held Osun State Governor Elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
At the INEC headquarter, which served as the collation center in Osogbo, the state capital, Adeleke announced the winner.
While the APC candidate, Oyetola, won the remaining 13 local government areas in the state, Adeleke won 17 local government areas.
In the just concluded Osun gubernatorial election, the popular senator received 403,371 more votes than the incumbent, Oyetola, who received 375,052.
Naija News 247 reports Prof. Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, vice chancellor of the University of Lagos and election return officer, announced the results.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), however, has disclosed that three people were detained by its agents on suspicion of purchasing votes in the Osun gubernatorial election.
