Naija News 247 – Naija News Today
Suleja is one of the 25 local government areas in Niger State Nigeria, which is predominantly occupied by the Hausa tribe. During the 19th century, Suleja was meant to be the Abuja Emirate and it was located in the north- facing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Suleja is considered a mighty local government in Niger state as its landmass is about 2, 980 kilometers per square mile, it was established after the federal capital territory Abuja was founded.
The Suleja emirate council was initially occupied by chiefs from Koro, who paid allegiance to the Zazzau (Zaria) caliphate.
History has it that after the 1804 Jihad Holy war by the Fulani tribe, the warriors overpowered the Zaria Caliphate, and not too far from the Zaria Emirate, King Makau Mohammadu of Zaria and his Junior Brother, the immediate successor to the throne of Zazzau, Jatau (Ja) Abu led many warriors to Koro village in 1828 and thus, Jatau Abu founded Abuja.
Jatau Abu began building a great wall to guard his territory after which he declared himself the first Sarkin of the town Abuja while he was still the Sarkin of Zaria.
Abu Jatau managed to keep Abuja safe from external attacks and through him, there were a lot of trades with the Fulani, and his town Abuja became a dominant Hausa shelter.
Meanwhile, in 1993 Ibrahim Awwal became the new traditional ruler (Emir) or the Sarkin Zaria, of the Suleja Emirate council. His opponents made his regime ungovernable for him as there were lots of conflicts and loss of properties in the town.
On 1994, 10th of May, he was ousted from office by Gen. Sani Abacha the then military President of Nigeria.
However, in the year 2000, on 17th January, Ibrahim Awwal was redeemed to his formal position as the paramount traditional ruler of Suleja, known as the Emir or Sarkin Zaria (Zazzau) after Nigeria retreated to democratic rule.
Although his reimbursement as the Emir of Suleja caused so much unrest again just like the previous time, this propelled the federal government to sanction the anti- conflict soldiers into Suleja and thus imposing almost dusk to dawn movement restrictions in Suleja.
The predominant occupation of the people living in Suleja is Farming, Suleja is blessed with many food crops such as; Rice, sorghum, millet e. t. c. Suleja also has many trade centers where traders from all over Nigeria come to trade.

Windows 11 Dev Build 25217 Adds Third-Party Widgets Support
With the Windows 11 2022 update rolling out to users globally, Microsoft has started testing new features with Insiders. Earlier we saw the full-screen widgets panel in a previous build, but with the latest Windows 11 Dev Insider build 25217, the company adds support for one of the most-anticipated features – third-party widgets. Yeah, developers can finally start making widgets for Windows 11, which you can then add to the widgets board. Let’s look at all the details.
Windows 11 Build 25217 New Features
In an official blog post, Microsoft confirms that the widgets board in Windows 11 is about to become even more useful. The widgets board currently hosts only content from Microsoft apps, news, weather, and sports updates. However, Dev build 25217 follows the release of the WinApp SDK 1.2 Preview 2, made available last week. This SDK will “allow developers to create widgets for their packaged Win32 apps and test them locally on the Windows 11 Widgets board,” says Microsoft.
As the statement above confirms, developers can start building widgets for their apps and see how it works locally on their PCs. They are not allowed to upload their updated apps with third-party widgets support to the Microsoft Store just yet. If you wish to make widgets for Windows 11, navigate to Settings -> Privacy & security -> For developers and enable the “Developer Mode” toggle.
That’s not the only new feature in this Insider build. The company is also testing a new video calling experience for Microsoft Teams using the Chat option in the Windows 11 taskbar. With build 25217, select users will now see their own video preview after clicking on the Chat option. You will see the option to start a video call or text chat (with those using Teams) and share a video call link with others over the viewfinder. This will be followed by a list of people you can text quickly, offering a neat experience for professionals.
Moreover, the Microsoft Store will now be more mindful of your Game Pass subscription. That means you won’t have to rely on the Xbox app to see if a game is available on Game Pass or not. When browsing games on the Microsoft Store, you will now see a new “Play with Game Pass” button along with the full price. This will make it easier for you to decide whether you need to buy a game or not.
Windows 11 build 25217 also brings a new cloud-based suggestion feature for Simplified Chinese IME users. There are also several other fixes and improvements in tow, so jump over to the official blog post to check out the rest of the details and known bugs. Also, I’m excited to see what shape the Windows 11 widgets board takes with the next update, thanks to third-party widgets. Are you intrigued about it too? Let us know in the comments below.
Google Pixel Foldable Rumored to Arrive in Q1 2023
Google introduced the Pixel 7 flagship series and the much-awaited Pixel Watch at its hardware event last night. The company even doled out more details about the upcoming Pixel Tablet. But the one thing that many wanted to hear about was Google’s foldable smartphone. It has been rumored for a long time, and no official confirmation has come just yet. Now, though Google did not reveal anything at the event, we are hearing murmurs about the Pixel foldable launch timeline again.
Google Pixel Foldable Release Timeline
Last night, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt tweeted about the Pixel foldable missing in action during the Pixel 7 series launch. To this, DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) analyst Ross Young responded with a Pixel foldable release timeline. Young said that foldable panel shipments to Google will start in January 2023, and the foldable should arrive sometime in Q1 2023.
Now, this is just speculation, as Google has shared no official statements about its foldable phone ambitions. So we suggest you take this leak with a grain of salt.
As for what we already know about the Pixel foldable, it is likely to be called the Pixel Notepad, as per reports from earlier this year. It will feature a compact design, much like the Oppo Fold N. This information comes from an animation leak from Android 12 builds, which revealed a squarish foldable design as opposed to Samsung’s Z Fold series.
Under the hood, we can expect the Pixel foldable to come with the latest Google Tensor G2 chipset, along with Android 13 (offering tablet-focused optimizations), and upgraded cameras in the same vein as the Pixel 7 series. You can expect to find a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens onboard. All other details are still under wraps, except for the rumored $1,400 price tag (if true, it could offer some tough competition to Samsung).
So, are you looking forward to a Pixel foldable from Google? What are your expectations from this phone? Let us know in the comments below.
